    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q What is the rated impedance of this mylar speaker unit?
The rated impedance is 8 ± 20% Ω, measured at 1 KHz and 1V. The impedance response is measured directly with the Mylar speaker using the circuit shown in Fig. 2.
Q What is the sound pressure level (SPL) of this speaker?
The SPL is 81 ± 3 dB, measured as the mean value at 1200, 1500, 1800, and 2000 Hz. The measurement is performed with a sin swept signal at 0.1W on axis at 0.1M distance.
Q What is the maximum input power this speaker can handle?
The maximum short-term input power is 2.0W. Testing is performed using an IEC filter with a white noise source for 1 minute, with no degradation in performance allowed.
Q What applications is this mylar speaker unit suitable for?
This speaker unit is suitable for a wide range of applications including headphones, intercoms, electronic toys, blood glucose meters, industrial packing equipment, electronic stethoscopes, mini Bluetooth speakers, drive-through communications, laboratory centrifuges, laptops, desk computers, printers, and fax machines.
Q What is the resonance frequency (Fo) of this speaker?
The resonance frequency is 980 ± 20% Hz measured at 1V with no baffle. The measurement circuit is as shown in Fig. 2 of the specification.
Q How is the polarity of this speaker defined?
When a positive DC current is applied to the terminal marked (+), the diaphragm moves forward. The polarity marking is clearly indicated on the speaker unit to ensure correct installation.
